Dial-up

Fiberlink Dial-up services provide economical, reliable remote access through Tier-1 and Tier-2 ISPs across the world. Fiberlink’s ISDN service eliminates the need to work with multiple DSL and cable service providers.

Global Coverage and Flexible Rate Plans

In many parts of the world and for many types of remote workers dial-up and ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) connections can be the most economical and reliable forms of network connectivity. But working with multiple service providers and distributing and updating dial-up phone books across wide areas can be time-consuming, difficult and costly processes for administrators.

Fibelink’s Dial-up service provides remote access in over 150 countries. Fibelink’s ISDN service simplifies the administration of ISDN connections across countries and across international boundaries. Fiberlink takes care of tasks like keeping connection information up-to-date and making sure that multiple numbers are available in each region to provide redundancy. Administrators can choose from a range of usage-based, pooled and flat-rate rate plans, and can use Fiberlink’s reporting tools to minimize access charges. Mobile employees enjoy a fast, simple connectivity experience.

Simple, Reliable Administration

Fiberlink Dial-up and ISDN services reduce the cost of managing and supporting remote employees by simplifying administration, improving reliability, and providing consolidated billing and reporting.

Fiberlink takes most of the work out of managing remote access. Network administrators no longer need to perform tasks such as:

  • Negotiating agreements with multiple service providers around the world.
  • Installing connectivity clients on remote systems.
  • Updating phone books and automated dialers on every remote system
  • Tracking costs from several network carriers.

Organizations receive a single monthly bill, making it easier to track and optimize costs. Fiberlink’s reports allow administrators to allocate usage costs by departments, and measure connectivity success rates.

Simple User Experience

Fiberlink’s Extend360 Agent™ makes it easy for remote workers to select the nearest dial-up access point form anywhere they may travel.  The user interface of the Extend360 Agent shows how connections are progressing, from the initial click through connection with the corporate network. Real-time status indicators show the status of network connection and indicate whether devices are in compliance with corporate security policies.

Fiberlink’s technology is largely transparent to the remote workers. Phone book updates, new policies and software updates are downloaded in the background. To avoid interfering with work, these downloads are throttled back when other tasks need the bandwidth.

Built-in Security

To improve security without affecting remote workers, the Extend360 Agent automatically launches VPN clients, forwards employee authentication credentials, and takes other steps defined by the system administrator.

Laptops and remote PCs that are not in compliance with corporate policies can be blocked from accessing corporate networks or the Internet, providing a form of Network Access Control (NAC).

You can also protect laptops and remote PCs from hackers, viruses, spyware, loss and theft, and many other security threats with Fiberlink Security Services.
