Mobile NAC™ is the first Network Access Control solution designed specifically for the mobile workforce. |
Network Access Control, or NAC, is a powerful idea that promises to mitigate the damage done by viruses, hackers and other threats to corporate information.
But many NAC products are difficult and expensive to implement, and few of them address “the mobile blind spot”: mobile computers and the confidential data on them that are carried beyond the protection of corporate firewalls and exposed to viruses, malware and hackers. These issues are addressed by Mobile NAC.
Mobile NAC™ uses the MaaS360 Mobility Platform™ to provide the four basic functions of Network Access Control:
Policy Management – Setting policies for endpoint computers, including policies on what security applications should be present on endpoints, how these should be configured, and what actions to take if an endpoint computer is out of compliance.
Endpoint Monitoring and Assessment - Continually monitoring the security posture of endpoint computers and comparing them with policies to determine if the systems are in or out of compliance.
Quarantine and Enforcement - Blocking non-compliant endpoints from accessing corporate networks and restricting partially-compliant systems to specified network locations.
Remediation - Remediating (repairing) computers that are out of compliance with corporate policies so they can be re-connected with the corporate network and employees can resume work.
Like all NAC solutions, Fiberlink’s Mobile NAC™ protects corporate networks from non-compliant endpoints. But it also addresses “the mobile blind spot” by protecting the endpoints themselves and the confidential data on them with “always on” monitoring and remediation.
The benefits of Mobile NAC™ include:
Mobile NAC™ protect networks from non-compliant computers used by mobile
employees.
For those enterprises that are also concerned about non-compliant computers used by
short-term contractors and guests, Mobile NAC™ is being integrated with Cisco’s Network Admission
Control (NAC) and Microsoft’s Network Access Protection (NAP) platforms. Fiberlink is currently an
active member of both the Cisco NAC Program for partners and the Microsoft NAP partner
program.
