ExtendAccess

The ExtendAccess™ service allows enterprises to integrate their own and third-party wireless networks into Fiberlink Connectivity Services.

The ExtendAccess™ integration service allows Fiberlink to integrate customer-specified WiFi and mobile wireless access points into Fiberlink’s global virtual network.

One Connectivity Client for All Networks

With the ExtendAccess™, Fiberlink works with an enterprise to integrate access point and authentication information from multiple sources into a single connectivity “phonebook” or “footprint.” The employees can then use the Fiberlink Extend360 Agent as a universal connectivity client to access:

  • The enterprise’s own private WiFi network.
  • Service providers specified by the enterprise.
  • Fiberlink’s global virtual network of 65,000 access points.

Employee Satisfaction and Lower Support Costs

ExtendAccess™ allows employees to replace two or three connectivity clients with one. Having a single, consistent procedure for logging on and authenticating improves employee satisfaction with mobile computing and lowers support and user training costs. The availability of more access points increases convenience and productivity.

Simplified Administration and Lower Networking Costs

ExtendAccess™ simplifies the administration of mobile networking, because Fiberlink takes care of creating, distributing and updating the connectivity footprint on hundreds or thousands of mobile computers. And enterprises can save on networking costs by mixing and matching advantageous rates they may have negotiated with individual service providers with the low networking costs of Fiberlink’s global virtual network.
