Extend360 Shipped to Over 20 Enterprise Customers; Delivers Mobile Security Software and Services Compatible With Windows Vista
December 12, 2007
BLUE BELL, Pa., Dec. 12, 2007 –
Fiberlink Communications Corporation, the trusted expert for secure mobile
computing, today announced its Extend360 Mobility Platform™ has earned Microsoft
Corp.’s Works with Windows Vista logo. Fiberlink’s Extend360 agent is currently
in use by several customers to help protect and manage enterprise laptops on Windows
Vista.
Fiberlink’s Extend360 integrates with many of Windows Vista’s new security features to help ensure the level of security and management enterprises want for their laptop users. Microsoft has transformed logon credentials by offering a standard credential provider functionality to replace proprietary techniques. Fiberlink has followed this lead to offer seamless logon for remote user authentication and management. This functionality is at the core of any trustworthy computing model.
“Microsoft is pleased that Fiberlink has earned the Works with Windows Vista software logo for Extend360,” said Justin Jed, Group Product Manager of Windows Client Product Management at Microsoft Corp. “This highlights Fiberlink’s commitment to providing its customers with applications that are compatible with Windows Vista."
Along with Extend360, Fiberlink also provides an on-demand, best of breed security application suite including endpoint security, data leakage protection, data encryption and other important security features for its customers, depending on their precise needs. Separate from the Works With Windows Vista logo, Fiberlink has a suite of “Fiberlink Certified” security applications and wireless data cards that have been tested specifically by Fiberlink and are ready for enterprise use on Windows Vista today.
“We are proud of this designation and have already shipped solutions that are compatible with Windows Vista. This places us in a strong position to help customers move quickly to take advantage of Windows Vista in their mobile computing initiatives,” said Chuck Brown, Fiberlink product manager. “The Works with Windows Vista logo gives our customers confidence that as they advance to new solutions for their employees, Fiberlink will help to simplify and extend the mobile security management of Windows Vista systems.”
Extend360 Management Center consists of two main components – MaaS360™ and Extend360 Agent. The Extend360 Management Center provides a dashboard for centralized security and connectivity reporting to help IT respond to security threats and better control security and network policies. The Extend360 Agent resides on the endpoint and allows mobile workers to access the Internet and corporate resources using any available connectivity type.
Fiberlink is also a Network Access Protection Partner of Microsoft.
