BLUE BELL, Pa., October 12, 2007 -- Fiberlink Communications Corp, the trusted
expert for simple, secure mobile working, today announced its inclusion on the 2007 Software 500,
Software Magazine's list of the world's foremost software and services providers. Fiberlink's
Software 500 ranking is based on total worldwide software and service revenue for 2006 and
published as an online catalog on www.softwaremag.com. Fiberlink is ranked number 303, based on
total software revenue for 2006. This marks Fiberlink’s third year on the Software 500 list.
This year’s announcement reflects Fiberlink’s revenue growth over the past year,
climbing the list from a rank of 333 in 2006.
"Fiberlink's ranking among the world's technology leaders in the Software 500 indicates the demand for secure mobile computing in today’s enterprises, and this award signifies our success meeting our customers’ needs," said Jim Sheward, chief executive officer of Fiberlink. “Enterprises are faced with many complex challenges -- compliance requirements, sophisticated information security threats, and employees’ mobility and productivity needs. Fiberlink strives to provide companies with the strongest and most advanced IT security and management tools for mobile workers.”
“Security providers such as Fiberlink are one of the top business sectors on the 2007 Software 500. Overall growth in the software and services industry was healthy from 2006 to 2007, and Fiberlink has successfully capitalized on this market demand year after year, a mark of the company’s accomplishments and relevance,” said John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine.
Some 37 percent of the 2006 Software 500 companies are privately held.
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing.
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2006. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.Softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents. The survey helps CIOs, senior IT managers and IT staff research find information on potential business partners, innovators and key players in the software services industry.
