Fiberlink to Reveal Threats to Mobile Devices On and Off the Network

Wall Street Technology Association Event Explores Enterprise Risk Management

January 30, 2007

WHAT: Fiberlink Communications Corporation, the trusted expert for simple and secure mobile working, will host a session on “Assessing Risk: What’s Threatening Mobile Devices Both On and Off the Network?” at the Wall Street Technology Association’s “Risk Management & the Enterprise” technology strategy seminar.

In today’s active business environment, companies focus on protecting desktop computers from viruses and other malicious threats in order to keep the network secure, but they often ignore the vulnerabilities mobile workers and external access introduce to the corporate network. Today, more and more employees are mobile - a trend that will only continue in order to increase flexibility and productivity in the workplace. It is important to recognize the risk associated with mobility, understand the holes, and plug them with best-of-breed solutions. Fiberlink will shed light on some, often-overlooked weaknesses in the network.

The WSTA event explores operational vulnerabilities concerning C-level executives today and will explain how incorporating a comprehensive risk management strategy more than offsets the costs in the long-run. Representatives from Fiberlink, AT&T, Avaya, Intellitactics and MessageOne will explore corporate demands and marketplace trends surrounding network security, business continuity, disaster recovery and compliance.
