Fiberlink Presents on Network Access Control Panel at Network World IT Roadmap Event

November 30, 2006

WHAT: Fiberlink, the trusted expert for simple and secure mobile working, outlines security and productivity factors driving companies to adopt Network Access Control (NAC) for mobile and remote workers. Joining Fiberlink at the Network World IT Roadmap San Francisco conference on "The Emergence of NAC: Exploring the New World of Security Management" panel will be fellow industry leaders from Juniper, Symantec and Trusted Network Technologies. Joel Snyder, senior partner of Opus One, will moderate the discussion.

Network Access Control addresses a clear and important problem that IT faces today – do they trust the computing devices that are attempting to get on their network? Over the past few years this topic has altered the way the industry thinks about network security – fundamentally changing the focus from perimeter-based security services to a macroscopic view of security as a whole and has elevated the importance of information protection.

The spotlight is now laser-like on individual points of access: the port, the VPN connection and the endpoint. As part of this panel, an expert in enterprise mobility from Fiberlink will offer insight into how NAC can be used effectively to address mobile workers and the unique security and management challenges they present to organizations. Today, a mobile worker is synonymous with any worker with a laptop. Enterprises must proactively protect against potential security threats to endpoints that are on and off the local area network and a mobile NAC solution can help.
