CTO Barry Porozni Offers Insights into Protecting Mobile Endpoints
October 26, 2006
WHAT: At the Forbes Risk Management Conference, Fiberlink chief technology officer Barry Porozni will reveal best practices for managing IT security risks inside corporate headquarters, while making sure that mobile workers – and the data they carry – are protected at all times from hackers, viruses, loss, theft, “data leakage” and other hazards brought on by mobile computing.
Porozni will be joined by Internet Security Systems (ISS) Vice President of Technology Scott Paisley to shed light on what kind of protection is needed to secure the corporate network. Porozni in particular will focus on the most vulnerable point of entry – workers’ laptops – discussing strategies to make mobile work simple and safe. The executives will examine a wide range of security topics across various industries during the “IT Security Risk Panel” session at the Forbes Risk Management Conference. The panel will examine the delicate balance companies must take to increase productivity while also meeting compliance regulations and protecting the corporate network.
WHO: As the chief technical officer at Fiberlink, Porozni has been instrumental in
leading development of Fiberlink's advanced mobility software and services. He oversees customer
service, infrastructure and systems delivery functions. Before joining Fiberlink in 1994, he was
the Information Technology Architect at Enbridge (formerly Interprovincial Pipeline), responsible
for defining the IT systems architecture. Porozni received a Bachelor of Science degree from the
University of Alberta.
