Fiberlink Ranked One of the World?s Largest Software Companies in Software Magazine?s 24th Annual Software 500

October 23, 2006

BLUE BELL, Pa., October 23, 2006 - Fiberlink today announced its inclusion on the Software 500, Software Magazine’s list of the world’s foremost software and service providers, published as an online catalog at www.Softwaremag.com. This marks Fiberlink’s second year on the Software 500 list. The company is ranked number 333, based on total software revenue for 2005.

"Today’s businesses have embraced mobile computing as a way to increase productivity, lower costs and enhance workplace flexibility. Rather than a traveling salesperson or executive, a mobile worker is now synonymous with any knowledge worker, which has led to a rise in laptop deployments, and a new set of challenges for IT," said Fiberlink President Ed McCrossen. "Fiberlink’s recognition as being one of the world’s largest software companies is evidence of the tremendous demand we’ve seen for Fiberlink’s mobility software and services that help our customers simplify and secure their mobile working environments."

Extend360™, Fiberlink’s industry-leading enterprise mobility software, enables mobile workers to connect quickly and easily to the applications and data they need when working away from the traditional office. It also ensures that the mobile devices - and the data they carry - are protected at all times from hackers, viruses, loss, theft, "data leakage" and other hazards brought on by mobile computing. By leveraging Fiberlink’s mobility software and services, enterprise administrators have the ability to deploy, monitor and manage security and connectivity applications while enforcing compliance with corporate policies.

"The software industry continues to be dynamic with more than 90 new companies on the list this year. Those companies that stay on the list year after year are nimble enough to quickly meet the needs of organizations," said John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com. "The Software 500 helps CIOs, senior IT managers and research staff create a short list of business partners since it offers a quick reference of vendor viability."

The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing. The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2005. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.Softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents.

It is being released first in the digital publication. The online Software 500 on Softwaremag.com, to be posted at a later date, is searchable by primary business sector.
