BLUE BELL, Pa. and WAYNE, Pa. – Oct. 31 , 2005 – Fiberlink Communications Corp., a leading innovator and trusted enterprise partner for secure mobile workforce solutions, and the Eastern Technology Council today announced that James Sheward, chief executive officer, co-founder and director of Fiberlink, has joined the Eastern Technology Council’s Board of Directors.
Eastern Technology Council board members are responsible for: developing the Council’s yearly agenda, proposing new activities and promotions to further the Council’s initiatives, actively promoting the Council to members, supporting organizations and media, and campaigning for new members and financial support for the Council.
Mr. Sheward has join ed the Eastern Technology Council’s board as a technology representative from the region , and an expert in securing the mobile workforce and corporate networks. He will leverage his experiences at Fiberlink to assist the Eastern Technology Council with its active participation with members in the regional technology community and pursue continued growth.

Mr. Sheward co-founded Fiberlink with company chairman, Paul Russell, in 1994. Since then, the company has grown to be a leader in the mobile enterprise network services industry, employing over 200 people in the Philadelphia region. Mr. Sheward’s success hasn’t gone unnoticed. He was the winner of the Blue Chip Enterprise Award Year 2000, sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Mass Mutual Financial Group, and has been recognized as Greater Philadelphia’s 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Software and Technology Services Category. In May 2004, Jim and Co-Founder Paul Russell received “Innovator of the Year” awards from Temple University’s Fox School of Business.
