Fiberlink's Chief Technology Officer Honored for Significant Contributions to IT Security

Barry Porozni Recognized by Info Security Products Guide as Security Pioneer

July 20, 2005

BLUE BELL, Pa. - July 20, 2005 – Fiberlink Communications Corp., a leading innovator and trusted enterprise partner for secure mobile workforce solutions, today announced that Silicon Valley Communications has recognized Barry Porozni as a pioneer in shaping information security. Info Security Products Guide selected 16 senior security industry executives out of 400 for this year’s People Shaping Info Security award. These leaders are transforming the security market through technology, education and awareness.

In his role as chief technology officer for Fiberlink Communications, Porozni has led the development of various mobile access solutions for large multinational corporations including GE, Continental and Honeywell, earning him a reputation as someone who believes strongly in applying IT protection and control to mobile data solutions.

“Barry’s insight and expertise in the enterprise mobility industry was instrumental to the development of our Dynamic Network Architecture™ (DNA) platform, which powers Extend360™, Fiberlink’s mobile access software,” said Fiberlink’s Chief Executive Officer Jim Sheward. “Using Extend360, our customers can simultaneously provide greater connectivity options to mobile workers while ensuring the end-user, corporate network and everything in between are safe and secure for their mobile workforce.”

“Porozni’s passion and expertise for developing mobile working solutions that ensure greater enterprise security, exemplifies the vision and commitment the Info Security Products Guide Awards aims to recognize this year. Porozni was clearly at the top of the list as an instrumental contributor in the IT security field,” said Judy Shelton, group editor, Silicon Valley Communications, publisher of the Info Security Product Guide.

Today, Porozni collaborates with many other talented technology experts within Fiberlink to identify and develop new technologies that enhance the company's current software suite. Last September, he served as the session chair and a presenter at the Global Mobile Enterprise Conference in Ottawa, and his knowledge is regularly showcased at industry conferences and tradeshows.
