Deloitte Ranks Fiberlink Among Fastest Growing Technology Companies in North America

Fiberlink Named to Deloitte Technology Fast 500 on Strong Sales of Software and Managed Services

October 21, 2004

BLUE BELL, Pa. -- Oct. 20, 2004 -- Fiberlink Communications Corp., a trusted enterprise partner for remote access and managed services, today announced that it ranked number 311 on the 2004 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America. Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services firms, bases rankings on rate of revenue growth over five years, from 1999-2003. Fiberlink's business grew 633 percent during this period.

Fiberlink's sales are driven by a steadily increasing market demand for its managed remote access services and security solutions. The company's software and managed services revenue combined grew by over 70 percent sequentially for the first six months of 2004. As enterprises seek new ways to extend business resources beyond the corporate perimeter, and as IT security risks grow, Fiberlink's innovative solutions protect valuable corporate information for all remote and mobile workers, regardless or their location.

In addition to ranking on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, Fiberlink ranked 12 on the Delaware Valley Technology Fast 50, which is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology firms in this region. This was the third straight year Deloitte named Fiberlink one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the region.

"Because the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 measures sustained revenue growth over five years, being one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America is an impressive achievement," said Mark Evans, national managing partner of Deloitte's Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. "Fiberlink deserves a lot of credit for its remarkable growth."

Fast 500 Selection and Qualifications
The Fast 500 list is compiled from Deloitte's 1920 regional North American Fast 50 programs, nominations submitted directly to the Fast 500, and public company database research. To qualify for the Fast 500, entrants must have had 1999 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD and $75,000 CD for the United States and Canada, respectively; and 2003 operating revenues must be at least $1 million USD or CD.

Entrants must also be public or private companies headquartered in North America and must be a "technology company," defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify.
