Fiberlink Joins Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Program with 633 Percent Revenue Growth Over Past Five Years
September 28, 2004
BLUE BELL, Pa. -- Sept. 27, 2004 -- Fiberlink Communications Corp., a trusted enterprise partner for managed remote access, security services and software, was named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for the Delaware Valley. The Fast 50 Program is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services firms. Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, from 1999 to 2003.
Ranked 12 in the Fast 50 Program, Fiberlink's climbing revenues are the result of businesses seeking improved employee productivity through Fiberlink's extensive wired and wide area wireless remote access networks. Fiberlink's 633 percent growth from 1999 to 2003 was further driven by increasingly mobile workforces often targeted by virulent network-borne viruses and blended threats. Fiberlink's software and managed services - which themselves have grown 70 percent in revenues sequentially in the first six months of 2004 - effectively protect enterprises from such attacks with layered endpoint security measures.
"For the third straight year Deloitte named Fiberlink one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the region - a testament to our drive to deliver the most robust managed services and software in our sector," said Jim Sheward, president and chief executive officer of Fiberlink. "Innovative new services and upcoming channel and technology partnerships will continue to drive Fiberlink's growth and build momentum as we strive to meet our goals."
According to Michael J. Purcell, partner in Deloitte's Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice, "In today's economy, triple-digit percentage revenue growth is an exceptional accomplishment. We commend Fiberlink for making the commitment to technology and delivering on the promise of market longevity. We are proud to honor Fiberlink as a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 winner."
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and $1,000,000 in 2003, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues (using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify); and/or devoting a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology.
Winners of the 19 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.
