Fiberlink Recognized as One of the Delaware Valley's Fastest Growing Technology Companies in Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 Program

September 30, 2003

BLUE BELL, Pa.Sept. 30, 2003 – For the second consecutive year, Deloitte & Touche named Fiberlink, the leading provider of comprehensive, policy-centric remote access solutions for enterprises, to its prestigious "Technology Fast 50" Program for the Delaware Valley. Fiberlink moved up from last year's ranking to 13th on the list of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services firms.

"Fiberlink's focus on policy-based management puts us on a path of continued growth, no matter how access technologies evolve," said Jim Sheward, chief executive officer of Fiberlink. "Our success is driven by our ability to customize and deliver solutions that quickly address the complex connectivity needs of our customers, as well as the security, management and control challenges that they face on a regular basis."

The Technology Fast 50 rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years - from 1998 to 2002 -- during which time Fiberlink experienced a 545 percent growth. To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must meet three requirements: (1) operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1998 and $1,000,000 in 2002, (2) headquarters in the Delaware Valley, (3) proprietary technology which contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues or devotes a high percentage of efforts to research and development of technology.

"To rank on the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50, companies must have phenomenal revenue growth over five years," said Michael J. Purcell, Partner-in-Charge, Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice at Deloitte & Touche. "Fiberlink has proven to be one of the fast-growth success stories in the Delaware Valley, and we applaud their success and vision."

Winners of the 20 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.
