Who: Fiberlink's Vice President of Product Development Skip Taylor will speak on the topic "Evaluating, Securing and Deploying Wi-Fi for the Mobile Workforce."
What: Deploying, managing and securing Wi-Fi for your mobile workforce goes beyond
selecting the fastest, broadest or most secure protocol. Instead, IT Managers must be able to
manage and enforce security policies for business users' Wi-Fi access as an integrated part of the
network framework. Executives want to be able to use the technology to retrieve sensitive corporate
data from the local airport or coffee shop, seamlessly, as part of their usual desktop experience.
Taylor will guide members of the audience through key steps to bring the convenience of Wi-Fi
to their mobile workforces, and along the way will identify crucial business considerations. These
considerations include: total cost of ownership, ease of use, depth of policy enforcement, network
coverage, and gains in productivity. Key steps involve evaluating technology options, managing and
enforcing policies, and extending and adapting the application to diverse corporate workgroups.
When: 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Central Time on Thursday, May 8, 2003
Where: Conference Room No. 2, Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, Ill. Additional information will be available at Fiberlink's table, #1116, located near the entrance of the expo hall.
