Chairman & Co-Founder
Paul is Chairman and Cofounder and acts as a Senior Counselor to Fiberlink. Since co-founding
the company in 1991, Paul has been instrumental in securing the funding that has enabled Fiberlink
to become a leading provider of mobile security and connectivity solutions. Most recently,
Fiberlink received financing totaling $30 million from Goldman Sachs and GE Equity.
Paul is a successful entrepreneur with a track record of growing companies through sales expansion and revenue growth. Before CO-founding Fiberlink with James Sheward, Paul owned and operated many different companies.
Paul graduated summa cum laude from Temple University.
Chief Executive Officer, Cofounder & Director
Jim Sheward is Chief Executive Officer, Co-founder and Director of Fiberlink.
He is recognized for building a strong team of technology professionals and securing the funding
that has enabled Fiberlink to become a leading provider of mobile workforce software and
services.
Under Jim's leadership, Fiberlink has grown into a profitable, customer-focused company that is changing the way enterprises think about mobile computing. Recognizing the growing importance of productivity and the need to protect corporate resources by securing mobile workers, Jim has created a strategy and vision for Fiberlink that leverages best of breed security products and access options and combines them into an easy to use mobile working solution.
Jim is on the board of the Mastery Charter High School Foundation, DotPhoto Inc. and the Eastern Technology Council and recently chaired a committee at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Before co-founding Fiberlink with Paul Russell in 1991, Jim was the Western Regional Sales Manager for Systems Industries.
Jim has won various awards including the Blue Chip Enterprise Award Year 2000 sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Mass Mutual Financial Group, the Greater Philadelphia's 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Software and Technology Services Category, and the 2004 Information and Technology Innovator Award from the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
Jim received a dual degree in economics and communications from the University of Virginia
President and Director
Edward J. McCrossen is the President of Fiberlink Communications and is responsible
for delivering continued revenue growth and maintaining corporate profitability for the company.
Since joining Fiberlink in 2001 as chief operating officer McCrossen has grown revenues 300% and
has helped transform Fiberlink from a telecommunications service provider to an Internet security
software and services firm.
Before joining Fiberlink, Ed spent eight years with Cisco Systems, Inc., holding various positions. He was Vice President of Worldwide Software Sales, responsible for all advanced VOIP software product sales. He spent two years as Vice President of Federal Operations; which provides end-to-end internetworking solutions to the Federal Marketplace, including the Department of Defense, Civilian, and Intelligence Agencies worldwide. Before joining the Federal group, Ed was the Director of Operations for the Southern Region driving all Cisco's Enterprise and Commercial sales. He also held Regional Manager and Account Manager positions within the Enterprise group.
Prior to joining Cisco in 1993, Ed held sales and management positions with Systems Industries and AT&T. He is an active board member of AdminiSource, and has served on the Fiberlink Board of Directors since 1996.
Chief Operating Officer
Chris joined Fiberlink in 2003 to deliver top-line revenue growth and to spearhead
Fiberlink's transformation to become the premier software and services provider for secure mobile
workforce solutions. As COO, Chris is responsible for the daily operations at Fiberlink, as well as
business strategy and worldwide business development initiatives. Chris' focus includes recruiting
high caliber software and service talent in all areas while continuing to build out Fiberlink's
global (China, Europe, India, USA) software product, delivery and support platform for our
Extend360 family of products.
Chris' previous position was CEO and BOD member of a tier-one, private venture start-up in a turn-around situation. He delivered continuous revenue growth and cost reductions while securing significant progress in channels and penetration of F500 global accounts.
Chris has also held executive management positions at Sprint Corporation, Unisys Corporation, Schering Plough Corporation and a United States government agency. His role has always centered on strategy, P&L responsibility, implementation of new growth initiatives and technology. Chris spent seven years at Sprint in multiple roles including Financial Analysis, M&A, and Business Development. As Vice President of IP Product Management, he led a team to implement Sprint's global IP backbone, product portfolio and sales enabled channel. He spent fours years at Unisys and Nihon Unisys Japan driving sales and software for the Japanese joint venture. Chris has lived and worked in the US, Europe, Japan and China. He is always eager to provide a high-growth, high-impact environment for individuals looking to build a great company.
Chief Financial Officer
Mark Partin is the Chief Financial Officer of Fiberlink responsible for all of the financial
aspects of the company's operations. Mark oversees accounting and compliance, planning and
forecasting, reporting and analysis and works closely with Fiberlink's CEO on investor relations
and corporate development.
Before joining the company in 2005, Mark was the CFO of Headhunter.NET, now CareerBuilder.com,
where he successfully managed the company's IPO, completed several acquisitions, and negotiated
multiple partnership agreements. Prior to this role, Mark was the CFO of Contour Medical Supply,
Inc. which was sold to Sun Healthcare in 1999. He has also worked as Director of M&A for
American Health Imaging, Inc. and Controller at the Williams Group International, Inc. Mark began
his career as a Certified Public Accountant with a large accounting firm in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of
Tennessee and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
General Counsel
Tom is responsible for Fiberlink's legal affairs and policy issues, and for developing and
implementing corporate strategy. Before joining Fiberlink in May 2000, Tom was Senior Legal Advisor
to the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), William Kennard. During his six
years at the FCC, Tom advised on broadband, common carrier, and mass media policy. Before that, Tom
was a partner and cable industry specialist at the law firm Winston and Strawn in Washington,
DC.
Tom received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a JD degree from the University of Virginia.
President, Fiberlink International
Steve Hammond brings over 20 years of general management, business development and
strategic marketing experience to Fiberlink. In his current role as President of Fiberlink
International, Steve is responsible for profit management and sales development for a team of about
25 employees dedicated to delivering secure mobile workforce solutions in EMEA and Asia
Pacific. Previously, as vice president of business development for Fiberlink, Steve was
responsible for developing new markets for Fiberlink's solutions and forming strategic partnerships
and alliances with leading technology organizations.
Prior to joining Fiberlink, Steve spent 19 years at Hilti USA and Hilti International in
managerial roles. Most recently with Hilti International, Steve spent four years in Asia Pacific as
general manager of Hilti Hong Kong, Ltd. where he was responsible for all strategic planning,
profit management, sales development, product management and personnel development. Under Steve's
leadership, Hilti Hong Kong, Ltd. experienced improved market share, its highest return on sales
ratio in the Asia Pacific Region, and the development of significant business relationships with
key contractors in the Hong Kong market.
Steve holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Millersville University.
